Pediatric Dentistry

It is unfortunate that cavities, along with other dental diseases, are a reality in children. Sometimes these dental diseases may be causing pain or have the potential to do so. Often, they will not go away on their own. If left untreated these dental diseases may have a negative impact on learning, communication, nutrition, and other activities necessary for healthy growth and development.

Often, children can be treated in the dental chair, but sometimes a general anesthesia may be recommended to make delivery of dental treatment possible in a safe and comfortable manner.

Dentistry under a general anesthesia may be recommended for a child if they:

  • are very young
  • are unable to cooperate
  • have special needs
  • require extensive dental treatment

James Lipon Dentistry is pleased to have Dr. Michelle Bazinet on staff. Dr. Bazinet is a general dentist who is currently restricting her practice to the treatment of children.

If your child requires dental treatment under general anesthesia, we will schedule you a consultation appointment. During the consultation you will meet with the dentist, registered nurse and treatment coordinator. At this time they will review the treatment plan, go over consent forms and special instructions, schedule you an appointment and answer any questions you may have regarding your child's dental treatment.

Please allow 45 minutes of your time for the consultation.
